 Napier must be New Zealand's most photographed city as tourists from all over the world record the variety of this world-class collection of unique buildings.

KIDSON'S BUILDING (1932) is one of Napier's most appealing smaller Art Deco buildings, with its two original shop-fronts.
The HAWKE'S BAY CHAMBERS (1932) is a downtown building which houses Charlie's Art Deco Restaurant.
THE FORMER HOTEL CENTRAL (1932) Is one of Napier's largest and finest Art Deco buildings. The upper floor has recently been refurbished.

THE MUNICIPAL THEATRE (1938) Napier's largest theatre (also its town hall) was built in 1938, and has traces of the Streamline Modern style of the late thirties. It's superb interior was refurbished in the 1990s, with decorative plaster-work, neon lighting and chrome speed-lines. The carpet was rewoven to the original design.
