The Art Deco Trust is now organising the Automobilia Vintage Car Parade (sponsored by the Masonic Hotel) for the 2009 GEON Art Deco Weekend and takes great pleasure inviting owners of all vintage and veteran cars to participate.
Conditions of entry are as follows -
Vehicles
- Must be to pre 1946 specifications - no hot rods allowed. If a replica, the vehicle must look pre 1946 in all regards.
- Vehicle owners no longer need to belong to a Vintage Car Club or have VCCNZ VIC certification for their vehicles.
- Must not have current commercial signwriting (period signwriting is acceptable).
- Must be in clean, tidy, and presentable condition.
- Must display current licence, warrant of fitness and Automobilia entry documentation at all times.
- Must observe the New Zealand Rode Code at all times.
- Must obey marshal’s directions at all times.
- No throwing of lollies or use of water pistols during the car parade.
- No standing on running boards.
- No animals allowed.
- Entries to the Automobilia parade will be limited to 230 vehicles.
- A limited number of extra parking spaces on Marine Parade will be available for vehicles not in the parade.
- The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any entrant whose conduct in their opinion is likely to bring discredit to the event or the Trust. Their ruling regarding any matters in respect of the running of the event will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The organisers may refuse to start any vehicle considered not suitable. Their decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. If this action is taken any entry fee that has been paid will be refunded upon production of the receipt.
Entry Fees
- Are payable directly to the Art Deco Trust.
- $30 for vehicles in the parade. This will entitle the entry to drive in the parade, take part in Show’n’Shine and have patrolled parking on Marine Parade from 6pm Friday to 5pm Sunday.
Also included in the fee will be free Art Deco Trust membership for one year and a parade plaque.

- Entries will be confirmed on receipt of entry fee.
- The collection point for your registration pack will be advised when we send you a letter confirming your registration.
- Entries will close at midnight on 31 December 2008.
Indemnity Waiver:
I agree not to hold liable the Art Deco Trust, its members, officials or representatives for any loss however caused or for the consequences of any action by an official, member or representative of the Art Deco Trust and accept that my participation in this event is a non-competitive quest only and I do so entirely at my own risk.
By completing and signing the entry form I confirm that I have read and accept this indemnity waiver.
Model T Ford Owners…
We encourage you to bring your Model T to the Weekend to help us celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Model T in NZ. The T’s will lead out parade and get a special parking are together where the public can enjoy the style of this ubiquitous vehicle.See ‘T-Party” in the Weekend Programme.
