This fabulous hand made rug has been designed by Robert McGregor,
Heritage Officer, Art Deco Trust.
It draws it's inspiration from the beautiful leadlight glass in the shop windows of the Bowman's Building, cnr Emerson and Market Streets, Napier.
Architect: Louis Hay 1932.
Each rug is individually hand knotted (60 per square inch with a 10mm pile), hand dyed and woven from a mixture of Tibetan wool for strength and New Zealand fleecewool for softness.
This design is exclusive to the Art Deco Trust, Napier, New Zealand.
