ADT Lifetime Membership Criteria/process for nominations

Nominations

• The nominee must be nominated by an existing Art Deco Trust member.
• The nominee for Life Membership must have given a minimum of five-years Membership, or a minimum of 5 years of service, with the Trust, unless there are exceptional circumstances. Length of service alone is not sufficient.
• The nomination should articulate the reasons why Life Membership should be considered as appropriate, where possible, specify examples of work or involvement which has significantly advanced the Trust (see Criteria).
• Nominations for Life Membership can be submitted at any time between 1 September and 31 August of each year. The awarding of Life Membership will be made at the AGM (November of the same year).
• Nominations must reach the Heritage Manager/GM – 5pm on 31 August.

Process

• All nominations must be treated in confidence.
• Once having received a nomination, the Heritage Officer/GM will convene Life Membership Nominations panel to review the nomination(s). The panel will include Heritage Manager/GM, Department Heads and Chair, Volunteers Committee.
• Life Membership Nominations panel will discuss each nomination received and make a recommendation to the Board. Recommendations will be decided by majority vote.
• The recommendation from the panel should be advanced to the Board for final approval September Board Meeting.

Criteria

• The nominee must have, or must has been, an active supporter of the Trust, for the minimum of 5-years;
• The nominee’s contribution and involvement with the Trust must have significantly progressed the Trust’s development; and
• The nominee’s contribution and involvement must have been such that the contribution is widely recognised as outstanding.

Presentation  

• An official life membership certificate and badge will be presented at the AGM or at another suitable special occasion.
• The Life Members name will be displayed on the Website and honour board
• The Life Members name will be added to the Trust’s archive of Life Members.

Special Notes

• Life Membership is not automatically given to a spouse/partner. If the couple are already members then the spouse/partner may be changed to a Single Membership
• A spouse/partner must be nominated in their own right.

Forfeiture of Life Membership

• Life membership is absolutely forfeited upon any failure to observe any by-laws or constitutional requirements. 
• It will be forfeited on the passing of a special Board resolution for the removal of Life Membership of reasons not limited to, but such as, bringing the Trust into disrepute.

Nominations for Art Deco Trust Life Membership to be sent to: Art Deco Trust Heritage Manager / GM via email: hm@artdeconapier.com between 1 September and 31 August. Nominations received during this period will be discussed/confirmed at the Trust Board Meeting in October of the same year end. Awards being made at November AGM.
