 Verified A great way to get to know the city centre
The Art Deco walking tour was a great way to hear about Napier's response to the earthquake in the 1930s. The city centre isn't very big, but the variety of buildings in the Art Deco style was impressive - there's lots! There was only four of us on the tour, but the use of headphones meant we could hear our guide clearly where ever you were. Well worth doing.

I have a low attention span. I thought maybe I would get bored after a little bit. But the enthusiasm, knowledge, beautiful buildings, walk and great history lesson held my attention right to the end. John was a great guide and the classy ladies were very kind and accommodating.

The guided tour was VERY informative. Was a bit of speed walking, so if you just has a knee op you will notice it. But there are stop and you have a radio ear piece so you miss nothing.

We did the 1 hour tour and throughly enjoyed it. Our driver/guide Tony was brilliant, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable of the area and the beautiful art deco buildings. We even got to dress the part which added to the experience. If you are in Napier this tour is a must!
