Celebrate Art Deco Napier

The 2027 Art Deco Festival Napier will be held from 18–21 February 2027.celebrations take over the streets, restaurants, cafes, bars, theatres, galleries, music venues, parks and homes of Hawke’s Bay (and even the skies above) with hundreds of events to choose from. It’s a summer festival like no other! The programme is released in October of the year prior to the event.

The Art Deco Festival Napier is presented by the Art Deco Trust, the organisation dedicated to protecting, promoting and celebrating Napier’s unique Art Deco heritage.

Make the most of your Festival visit by exploring Napier on one of our Art Deco tours in Napier, where you can discover the city’s remarkable architecture, history and stories.

Over the years the Festival has grown into one of the greatest dress-up shindigs you’ll ever attend. But more than that, The Festival celebrates the resilience and spirit of the people of Hawke’s Bay, who courageously rebuilt their town and their lives following the catastrophic 1931 Hawke’s Bay Earthquake, as well as the vibrant community Hawke’s Bay has become.

Each July the Winter Deco Festival, while a much smaller event, Winter Deco encourages everyone to come to Napier to embrace the winter spirit of art deco. The programme is released May/June of the same year.

Whether you are an avid Art Deco enthusiast, love the romance of a bygone era (and a good dress up) or simply want to kick back and have a great time with family and friends in our lively little region, exactly how you Deco is up to you. But one thing is guaranteed, you will be back for more.
